چکیده
Placental mesenchymal dysplasia is an underdiagnosed and a rare vascular anomaly of the placenta. It characterized by presence grape-like vesicles, which, on ultrasonography gives appearance partial mole. Histologically it can be differentiated mole absence trophoblastic proliferation. essential to make correct diagnosis as management outcome both these entities are vastly different. We present this case placental dysplasia, not just because its rarity but highlight radiological, gross histopathological features keep in mind differential making diagnosis.

Placental mesenchymal dysplasia (PMD) is a rare benign placental abnormality. It is characterized by hydropic degeneration of stem villi, placentomegaly, and increased maternal serum alpha-fetoprotein(AFP). It can be associated with different congenital abnormalities, karyotype abnormalities, and feto-maternal morbidities. It is difficult to differentiate PMDfrom partial mole, complete mole wit...

Introduction. A rare case of histologically proven placental mesenchymal dysplasia (PMD) with fetal omphalocele in a 22-year-old patient is reported. Material and Methods. Antenatal ultrasound of this patient showed hydropic placenta with a live fetus of 17 weeks period of gestation associated with omphalocele. Cordocentesis detected the diploid karyotype of the fetus. Patient, when prognostica...

متن کاملPlacental Mesenchymal Dysplasia Associated with Severe Preeclampsia: a Case Report
Placental mesenchymal dysplasia (PMD) is a relatively recently recognized, rare placental vascular anomaly characterized by placentomegaly and grapelike vesicles that may coexist with a normal fetus. Ultrasonography performed at 16 weeks of gestation revealed multiple cysts in the placenta along with a morphologically normal fetus. At 24 weeks of gestational age, severe preeclampsia symptoms we...

Introduction: Placental mesenchymal dysplasia (PMD) is a rare lesion, characterized by atypical placental development with placentomegaly, hydropic cystic stem villi formation and anomalous villous stroma and vessels. PMD fetuses are often normal. Because of this characteristics it is important to do the differential diagnosis among gestacional trophoblastic disease, Beckwith Wiedemann syndrome...
